2007: Bannatyne made a mercy dash to Maraciabo as injury cover for the injured Glen Moss but did not get on the pitch inNew Zealand's 5-0 loss to Venezuela. Not selected for the match in Wales.

2006: Recalled for the end of season club tour of England and Spain after a four year stint in football's international wilderness, Bannatyne was unlucky to find Uefa Cup holders FC Sevilla in irresistable form as New Zealand were thumped 5-1. The match was Bannatyne's fifth international, four years after he secured his fourth cap as a 57th minute substitute in the shock 1-0 win over Australia in the 2002 Oceania Nations Cup final in Auckland.
