2007: Old was relegated to the bench for the 2-2 draw against Wales after playing all 180 minutes on the ill-fated tour of the Americas in March when New Zealand were beaten 4-0 and 5-0 to Costa Rica and Venezuela. Will be looking to reassert himself for the Phoenix.

2006: Old has been a long-term development project for All Whites and now Phoenix coach Ricki Herbert who has just signed the defender at Wellington’s new A-League club.  Scored the winner in a 1-0 win over Malaysia in February 2006 and more than held his own against then World Cup favourites Brazil in Geneva last August.
